C areSouth is a private, non-profit, community- based health provider and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving Baton Rouge, Donaldsonville, Plaquemine, Shreveport, and Zachary, Louisiana. Guided by a consumer- majority volunteer Board of Directors, CareSouth is committed to delivering affordable, high-quality medical, dental, and behavioral health services with compassion and respect for all. CareSouth offers comprehensive medical care, including primary and specialized services. Adults receive routine checkups, chronic disease management, and preventive care, while children benefit from vaccinations, physicals, and wellness services. The clinic also provides specialized care for hepatitis C and HIV, including diagnosis, treatment, and counseling. Women’s health services include pregnancy care,
cancer screenings, and more. Additionally, CareSouth offers laboratory testing, psychiatric evaluations, and specialty care such as urology, podiatry, and gastroenterology. Dental services promote oral health for patients of all ages, offering routine care like cleanings and checkups, as well as restorative treatments such as fillings and crowns. CareSouth also participates in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, providing nutrition education, counseling, and supplemental food assistance to eligible families. Beyond clinic walls, CareSouth actively engages in community events, offering education, screenings, and preventive care to bridge healthcare access gaps.
