SHOW RULES & REGULATIONS
Conditions of Competition 1. Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF Rule Book will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. Fence heights and cross entry restrictions will follow the GSDHJA rule book. 2. THE HORSE SHOW COMMITTEE reserves the right to itself to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to, or arising out of, or incident to, the show, without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. Any questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by the Horse Show Committee, consisting of the Competition Managers and the Horse Show Secretary. 3. ALL ENTRIES are accepted with the understanding that the Jingle Bell Horse Show and HITS Del Mar Horsepark will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any horse exhibited or any article of any kind. All horses shall be under the control and direction of the Horse Show Committee but solely at the risk of the exhibitor, who will be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to any person, animal or property occasioned by him, his agents or employees, or by any animal owned and exhibited by him, and shall indemnify SCHC, Jingle Bell Horse Show, and HITS Del Mar Horsepark against any and all loss, damage and liability thus occasioned including but not limited to any and all legal costs, including attorney fees, which may be incurred as a result thereof. The submitting of any entry form shall constitute an acceptance by each person signing same of the provisions herin set forth. 4. ALL OWNERS AND EXHIBITORS will be held responsible for any damage incurred by them or their agents to barns or other properties on the show grounds and will be billed accordingly. 5. IN ADDITION TO ENTRIES of persons suspected or expelled from the Federation, the Recognized competition may refuse any entry of an exhibitor or the participation of any agent, trainer, rider, driver or handler who has shown an objectionable attitude towards this Recognized competition or previous unsportsmanlike behavior at a Recognized competition or to its management.
6. MANAGEMENT reserves the right to cancel, consolidate or split classes depending upon entries received at the closing date.
7. THE HORSE SHOW COMMITTEE reserves the privilege of substituting or changing judges if it becomes necessary. The Judges’ decision in the show ring are their own responsibility and the Show Committee accepts no responsibility for these decisions.
8. PRE-ENTRIES CLOSE AND MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN FRIDAY DECEMBER 6TH. ENTRIES POSTMARKED AFTER CLOSING DATE WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE ASSESSED A POST ENTRY FEE OF $100 PER HORSE. IF ORIGINAL ENTRY IS MADE AT THE SHOW, THE POST ENTRY FEE PER HORSE SHALL BE $100. NO ENTRIES, SUBSTITUTIONS OR CLASS CHANGES WILL BE TAKEN OVER THE TELEPHONE. NO ENTRY IS VALID UNLESS ACCOMPANIED BY AN OPEN CHECK OR CREDIT CARD PAYMENT. 9. REFUNDS. Full refunds will be given if written notice is received by the Show Secretary before the closing of entries. Exhibitors scratching a horse for any reason after the official closing date shall forfeit all entry, stall and association fees, UNLESS a valid Veterinarian’s or Doctor’s certificate of disability for entered horse/rider is submitted to the Horse Show Secretary prior to the first event of the horse show, in which case a $50 fee will be assessed. If illness or injury after the start of the show should prevent exhibitor’s participation in the balance of entered classes, a refund of unused classes will be made, less a $50 office fee, providing the balance of classes are officially scratched and a doctor’s certificate is provided within 48 hours of the close of the show. Stall and association fees will not be refunded. 10. ADDS AND SCRATCHES. A NOMINATION FEE OF $35.00 PER HORSE WILL BE CHARGED TO ALLOW THE ADDING AND SCRATCHING OF CLASSES AT NO ADDITIONAL COST. IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A REFUND, ALL SCRATCHED CLASSES MUST BE SCRATCHED IN THE OFFICE PRIOR TO THE BEGINNING OF THE CLASS. YOU WILL NOT BE REFUNDED CLASS FEES IF THE CLASS BEGINS BEFORE YOU SCRATCH OR IF YOU WAIT TO SCRATCH UNTIL TIME OF CLOSE OUT. A RDNE (RIDE DID NOT ENTER) FEE OF $10.00 WILL BE CHARGED TO EACH CLASS NOT ENTERED THROUGH THE SHOW OFFICE. 11. PENALTY. There will be a penalty of $100.00 if a check is returned. No checks will be processed through the bank a second time, and must be covered by a money order, cashier’s check or cash in addition to the penalty. There will be a penalty of $100.00 for any credit card charge backs. 12. NUMBERS. No competition numbers will be released by the Horse Show Office until all entry blanks are complete, all necessary copies of registration papers. EXHIBITORS MUST ALSO PROVIDE AN OPEN CHECK TO COVER ANY EXPENSES THAT MIGHT BE INCURRED BY THEM DURING THE COURSE OF THE SHOW , INCLUDING FEED AND BEDDING.
13. STABLING. All stalls are approximately 12’x12’ with full closing doors. Stalls will be available at 8:00am on December 11th, and must be vacated no later than midnight on December 15th. No first bedding will be furnished. Early arrivals will be charged $50 per day, per stall. To reserve stalls, call 760-525-8933. 14. FEED AND BEDDING. NO FIRST BEDDING will be provided. Only shavings can be used for bedding purposes. Exhibitors must leave an open check with the horse show office, payable to SCHC. To order ahead, please call 760-525-8933. Pre-ordered feed and shavings may not be returned.
15. TRAINERS wishing to split the payment of their tack rooms and feed/bedding must fill out forms provided by the horse show office, no later than December 7th.
16. ARENAS are a combination of sand and soil. Arena is 150’x250’. Lunging arena opens December 11th. Show Arenas open for warmups December 12th. No arenas of any kind available on Monday/Tuesday.
17. DOGS AND ALL OTHER PETS must by on leashes at all times. Stray animals will be impounded and removed from the grounds.
18. Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. 19. PARKING. Fire regulations prohibit exhibitor vehicles including cars, trailers, vans and campers from being parked in barn areas. Designated parking will be posted. There will be no exceptions and violators will be towed away at owner’ s expense.
20. PRIZE MONEY CHECKS will be credited on show bill.
21. RV’s and CAMPERS. Reservations can be made by calling Lance 760 525 8933. Water and power available. $125 Per day.
