A GRANT INTEGRATED HEATING PACKAGE INSTALLED IN AN EXCLUSIVE CO DOWN NEW BUILD TICKS ALL BOXES WITH A HIGH-PERFORMANCE, ENERGY-EFFICIENT SOLUTION SUPPORTING THE DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE OF THE PROPERTY… Designing efficient and bespoke heating solutions for modern homes
A new 2,650sqft luxury home located on the Ballymoney Road in Holywood, Co Down, has recently installed a 13kW Grant Aerona³ R32 air-source heat pump as part of a bespoke Grant Integrated Heating Package. Boasting an EPC rating of A97, this impressive contemporary style home was designed by architectural designer Colin McAuley Planning and built by Distinguished Homes. The integrated heating solution was designed by the in-house technical specialists at Grant, who worked closely with Distinguished Homes and Colin McAuley to size and specify the best-suited Grant heating technologies which would maximise efficiency and long-term cost savings for the homeowner. The main heat source chosen for the home was a 13kW Grant Aerona³ R32 air-to-water, air-source heat pump. The highly efficient and award-winning Grant Aerona³ range has an ErP of A+++, is easy to install and the technology helped to achieve full compliance with all necessary building regulations. The Grant Aerona³ R32 air-source heat pump range works seamlessly with other Grant heating technologies and the 13kW Aerona³ R32 model has also been recognised for its quiet operation by the internationally acclaimed Quiet Mark. Stewart Duncan, Director, Distinguished Homes, said, “I learnt about Grant heating technologies at a course held at Haldane Fisher and was particularly impressed with the quality of the products. The

Grant team was very helpful and, upon receiving house plans, they designed and specified the full heating system for this modern home. “The whole process saved a lot of time and hassle, and it was reassuring to know that the system had been professionally designed and the heating technologies sized and specified appropriately by Grant. “I was particularly happy that a representative from Grant came to the home to fully commission the heat pump and set the system to optimum efficiency prior to handover. We were also able to provide the homeowner with links to online tutorials on how to operate the system which was very helpful.” The Grant Uflex underfloor heating system was installed throughout the ground floor and the homeowner opted for Grant Afinia aluminium radiators on the second floor to heat individual rooms. These modern heat emitters work effectively to distribute heat efficiently, whilst offering versatility to support the overall design and architecture of each property. Grant smart heating controls were also included within the heating package. To support the system’s overall efficiency,
a high performance, energy-efficient hot water storage solution was installed in the home. This included a 300l Grant MonoWave cylinder which will supply the property with 24/7 hot water. Mark Eccles, Grant NI, said, “We are delighted to have designed and specified a highly efficient and bespoke heating solution for this spectacular home in Co Down. “The heating technologies which have been installed will futureproof the home and deliver long-term cost and carbon savings for the homeowner, whilst also giving them peace of mind from knowing that they have a reliable heating solution which will keep their family comfortable for many years to come.”
