CARDINAL NEWMAN LIBRARY, ST MARY’S UNIVERSITY COLLEGE BELFAST

FIRE-RATED AND NON-FIRE-RATED GLAZED PARTITIONS AND DOORS ACHIEVING SAFETY, FIRE AND SOUND REQUIREMENTS WERE INSTALLED BY FIRE GLASS DIRECT IN THE CARDINAL NEWMAN LIBRARY… GLAZED SOLUTIONS

Glazing for the Cardinal Newman Library was supplied by architectural glazing specialist Fire Glass Direct. The family-run business was founded in 2004 and is known for creating bespoke glazing solutions for the commercial and domestic sectors throughout the UK and Ireland. The installation within the library included fire-rated and non-fire-rated glazed partitions and doors achieving the client’s safety, fire and sound requirements. Roy Robinson, Contracts Manager, said, “We found this particular installation to be very smooth sailing, having completed a similar project for main

contractor Tracey Brothers within the same building a few years prior. “The continuation into the second phase of the project was especially efficient, and its completion is one Fire Glass Direct is delighted to have been a part of. Working alongside Tracey Brothers was, once again, a pleasure.” All of Fire Glass Direct’s products are manufactured under one roof within its

Castledawson-based factory, which the company continuously updates and invests in to maintain an efficient working environment. From its design team through to its installation team, Fire Glass Direct offers a complete workforce that is consistent in everything it does and is the driving force behind the company’s continued success.
