The brewery offers kegs for restaurants and bars while the rest of the product is canned in tall boys. “We went straight to tall boys. I thought that trend was here to stay, and I was correct in that. Now stores are designing their shelves for tall boys. Cans are better for the product in my opinion,” said Ross. New Level Brewing offers five core beers. “Beer wise, we are trying to push the limits of conventional styles. For instance, our core IPA is a Strawberry Milkshake IPA.” The Wizards Revenge Strawberry Milkshake IPA is one of the brewery’s best sellers.
The references behind the names are metal in spirit. “The names are as bold as the beers them- selves. Beserkers are ancient Viking warriors and the Grim Reaper is very metal. Wizards are in the fantasy element.” Blonde Beserker is a clean and easy drinking beer great for those new to craft beers. The Leviathan Russian Imperial Stout was a Silver medal winner at the Alberta Beer Awards in 2018. The Leviathan is a big stout with notes of choco- late, toffee and a little bit of roast and caramel. “Wedon’t enter toomany competitions because most of our beers don’t fit in the award catego -
ries,” said Ross.
The Haze Lord, a New England style Pale Ale, and Reaper’s Choice IPA, a throwback to old school West Coast IPA’s, round out the core five.
