WELCOME
WELCOME TO THE HAZY SHADE BYOP We are so happy you are out to play the tournament with us this weekend. There are some great things lined up for this weekend, including several videos throughout the caddy book explaining how to take advantage of each. Please take a minute to look through each of them and familiarize yourself with the details of the tournament weekend.

TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS
Thank you. To all of our Tournament Directors, thank you. Without your hard work and dedication to our region and our disc golf community, this tournament could not happen. Please take a moment to stop and thank them this weekend.

THE RULES
Thank you for coming out to our 20th Annual Hazy Shade BYOP. We are excited and proud that so many new and seasoned players have come out to join us this weekend. Below are a few tournament rules to remember.
PDGA RULES We will be following PDGA rules for the event, although we do reserve the right to not issue penalty strokes for some of our lower divisions. Again, if this is a learning opportunity, we may show leniency. However, any flagrant fouls will result in strokes added or even disqualification.
CLICK HERE FOR THE OFFICIAL PDGA RULES
GUIDELINES AND RULES OF NOTE Use your mini. Each player received a mini in your players pack, courtesy of Barker Heating and Air. Please make sure you use it during the event. You may throw from your lie, but please no disc flipping.
Pedestrians. Pedestrians always have the right of way. If you are even in doubt, wait.
Respect the course. Please pack it in and pack it out. We have an opportunity to show the parks department’s that we can have a huge event and still leave the parks in awesome, or better shape than when we arrived. Respect your group. Everyone paid to play in this event; treat each round as such. Be quiet while others are throwing. Do not walk in front of the group that is out. Consider line of sight on other holes. If you’re traveling and see someone throwing on another hole, they can most likely see you; so hold up and let them take their shot.
6
THE RULES
Rule in favor of the player. When in doubt, please rule in favor of the player. If there is a disagreement, try to work it out within the group. If you aren’t able to come to an agreement, don’t stand on the course and argue. Throw a provisional shot. All players on the card will need to make note of what they observed. After the round is complete, the entire group will need to wait and speak to the courses respective Tournament Director. We have some of the best Dayton has to offer directing this event. We will make sure the right call is made.
Mark your discs. There are many players at this event. It is your responsibility to ensure you have a unique, identifying mark on your discs.
Lost and found. We will post daily on our Facebook event page any lost and found items from the event. These items will then make their way to the Hazy Shade store. Please pick them up as soon as you can. Out of Bounds (OB). An OB line has no thickness. If any part of your disc is on the line, you are in. That said, the term “surrounded by” means that if you can see either water or a solid surface around your disc, you are out of bounds. An example of this would be a weed that may grow out on a walk and your disc landed on it. If you can see the walk all around your disc, it is OB. In the same regard, if you land on a rock in the middle of a creek, even though your disc is dry, if the rock is surrounded by water, you are OB. Rain delays. We will play in rain, but if there is any lightning, you MUST mark your shot and leave the course immediately. Play will be suspended until it is safe to resume play. If this would occur early in the day and delay play, we will post online delays. It is still your responsibility to be on-time when your card tees off, so please be a few minutes early, not late.

THE SCHEDULE
FRIDAY SCHEDULE & EVENTS
HAZY SHADE STORE HOURS FRIDAY, 10AM - 9PM SATURDAY, 12PM - 9PM SUNDAY, 12PM - 7PM
PLAYERS PACKS Individual Players Packs will be available for pick-up, beginning Friday from 10am - 9pm at Hazy Shade (723 Watervliet Ave). If you are not able to pick up your players pack Friday, they will be available for pick-up at Hazy Shade on Saturday from 12pm - 9pm and Sunday from 12pm - 7pm. The shop will be closed on Monday, August 29th. As part of your individual players pack, you should have received a gift card via email. If for any reason you did not, please see a staff member at check-in. AMS COMBINE How does it work? You will receive a scorecard when you check-in at Hazy Shade for your players pack. Take the card to Belmont Park and Team Hazy will be there ready for you. Compete to test your skills at driving, putting, and approach. Scores will be based on players you beat. For example, if we have 50 players and you beat them all, you get 50 points. The Combine runs from 11am - 6pm on Friday only. Top five (5) scores will compete again on Saturday at 7pm. The winner will receive a spot on Team Hazy Shade in 2023. You must have your card from player check-in to enter, so get checked-in and get out there!
FRIDAY, 11AM - 6PM
Putting. Two (2) putts per station; stations get longer as you go; total combined points win.
Driving. Three (3) shots on the driving lane; best of three (3) is your entry; you must land inside the lines for your drive to count.
Accuracy. One (1) shot at five stations; the closer you get, the more you score. All points will be on an ascending scale based on the total number of players.
New this Year. You will need to upload your scores. This will allow others to see where they stand as the day goes on and for staff to see if you can keep the score correct.
There is no divisions in this game, just our top five (5) players move to Saturday final. Good luck!
FRIDAY, 6:30PM
RING OF FIRE Join us at Belmont Park. All BYOP players are welcome to participate.
