Local labour for the project is sourced through a full time Community Liaison Officer. In excess of 200 work opportunities have been created for previously unemployed people from the local area. To date the project has also generated in excess of 850 on site construction jobs with many more generated in support services off site. A number of locally based subcontractors have also been engaged on the project undertaking trades such as bricklaying and plastering and working with the appointed selected subcontractors such as electrical, tiling, painting, ceilings and partitions and kerbing. These local subcontractors were also sourced via the CLO. A project such as this always has a large value of imported component consisting of, amongst others, tiles, electrical equipment, dock levellers and sectional doors, HVAC equipment, lifts,
