HARBOUR ARCH
H arbour Arch Tower 1 is the first of six towers that will transform the Cape Town Skyline. Tower 1 is a 104 m high-rise building consisting of modern urban retail and residential space, overlooking the picturesque harbour and Table Mountain. The Tower 1 project started in September 2020 and will be completed in May 2023. It has a contract value of R1,06b. The building has a total basement and parking area of 45 422 m 2 and will house 560 Apartments over 24 Floors, which includes high-end luxury apartments (478) as well as affordable units (82). The building has a very complex plastered façade, that is divided into three sections by using cantilever scaffold brackets. This enabled the building to be plastered and painted while construction of the structure was still underway at the top. This made the project a first of its kind when it comes to faÇade scaffold innovation. This project will allow the for integration of people to create an inclusive and sustainable living and lifestyle space that will lead the way in the transformation of Cape Town’s property Sector. Harbour Arch is strategically positioned at the gateway of the vibrant cape Town CBD. Harbour Arch’s exceptional location will ensure that it is the most visible and easily accessed development in the CBD. Cape Town’s newest mixed-use precinct is located at the confluence of the N1 and N2 highways making it highly visible to anyone arriving in the city. This unrivalled location will also provide quick and easy vehicular access to the airport, the southern suburbs, the northern suburbs, the Atlantic seaboard and the winelands. Residents will be able to link effortlessly to
the neighbourhood, the city, and the world. Excellent transport connections for vehicles via the N1 and N2 highways, as well as access to the BRT routes make Harbour Arch easily accessible by car, bus, shuttle, taxi, bike and rail. Harbour Arch will become Cape Town's largest and most ambitious sustainable mixed-use development. Like Melrose Arch, it will be built on sustainable principles and eco-friendly innovation. Integrated green building initiatives will include refuse recycling, water-saving devices and rainwater harvesting, a centralised district cooling facility and low-energy LED lighting.
