Grooming Standards 2023

GROOMING STANDARDS

DEFINITION

A grooming standard is a guideline for appropriate workplace appearance, personal hygiene, grooming ad clothing. It is based on several elements including smartness, cleanliness, safety, hotel image and colleagues' individuality.

GUIDELINES

It is the hotel policy during working hours that all colleagues adhere with the hotel grooming standards and dress codes as stated in the succeeding pages. The standards are enforceable and favorable to our hotel image.

Failure to comply with these standards will result in disciplinary action.

The differences between uniformed and non- uniformed colleagues including gender are recognized and incorporated to provide the best interest of the hotel and colleagues. Additional and specific standards are also highlighted for key positions and departments.

PERSONAL HYGIENE

Colleagues need to care for their personal hygiene and present themselves at their best, all should be clean and fresh before starting work.

NAME TAGS AND MANAGEMENT PINS

NAME TAGS AND MANAGEMENT PINS All Management colleagues (M1-M6) are required to wear the Shangri-La management pin on the left label of the jacket during any formal event. Jackets are not worn during the day, unless it is for official purposes. Name tags must be clean, unscratched and properly worn at all times on the left side of the uniform. The only exception is when it is a hazard to safety or when the security colleagues are carrying undercover duties.
