hat is your great- est professional accomplishment? Leasing office buildings to 100% capacity. How do you contribute to your company and/or the industry? Mentoring newcomers in the real estate business. I truly enjoy helping people learn the business and I get a lot of personal satisfaction seeing them grow. Tell us how and when you began your career in the profession you are in, about your current position and W
available. What unique qualities and or personality do you feel makes you most suc- cessful in your profession? Tenacious and a strong will to monitor the details of the transactions. My clients know that I will not leave any stone unturned to accomplish their goals and complete a transac- tion. What challenges and or obstacles do you feel you needed to overcome to be- come as successful as you are today? To be a good listener to the
clients needs and objectives. This is such an important skill to learn and so valuable in our business and in life. What is the funniest, most unique situation you have faced/conquered during your career? Or in your life? When I started out in the real estate business, I heard some experienced brokers discussing building operating expenses and I mistakenly thought that escalations had something to do with “moving stairs”. I also had a buddy that started in the industry at the same time as me and he thought “Comps” were “free concert tickets”. We both had a lot to learn! What outside activities do you enjoy during you free time? Travel, dining with friends and going to live sporting events. What inspiring word of advice would you give to a young executive graduat- ing from college today? Learn your marketplace inside and out. Meet all of the owners in your market and canvass extensively so you know the tenants in a specific area as well. It is extremely important to learn clauses in leases and contracts from the perspective of each side (land- lord/owner and tenant/buyer) so that you can help facilitate a negotiation whereby each side is able to accomplish their ob- jectives while ultimately reach- ing a common ground.
