Kevin Tansey joins AHL Senators

He graduated fromClarkson University after five years of study and is certain he made the right choice in combining hockey with academic pursuits. “I made sure to get my education,” Tan- sey stated, “so I’d always have something to fall back on, so now I can keep chasing my dream. I can’t thank my family and friends enough for all the support they’ve givenme in my career.”

Kevin Tansey is playing with the pros now. The Hammond hockey player is part of the D line for the Binghamton Senators in the American Hockey League. “It’s always been a dreamof mine tomake it to the NHL,” stated Tansey. “This is just one step closer.” The AHL Senators are the farm teamclub for the Ottawa Senators. Tansey joins the Bin- ghamton squad after five years of study and collegiate hockey action at Clarkson Uni- versity in Potsdam, New York. It’s the latest move up the hockey ladder for Tansey since junior years with the Cumberland Grads in the Central Canada Hockey League and his time before that with the AA EasternOntario Cobras and the AAA Eastern Ontario Wild. Tansey’s collegiate hockey career saw himfinish up with 151 games under his belt which included 12 goals scored for Clarkson and 34 game points. Clarkson Coach Casey Jones mused that Tanseymade a big impres- sion during his time with the college team. “As a coach I always love when a player has that physical intimidating presence on the ice, yet when in street clothes is a caring, considerate person,” stated Jones. “That is Kevin Tansey.
