He then completed a Complex Spine Surgery Fellowship at the University of Calgary, where he received advanced training in minimally invasive, robotic-assisted, deformity, revision, and motion-preserving spine surgery while working alongside both orthopedic spine surgeons and neurosurgeons. This multidisciplinary training provides him with a comprehensive perspective on treating both routine and highly complex spinal pathology. Since beginning orthopedic practice in 2017, Dr. Wood has remained committed to advancing spine care through the use of innovative technology and evidence-based surgical techniques. He manages approximately 350 surgical cases
annually and is dedicated to providing high-quality surgery for the right patient at the right time. He values open communication with both patients and referring providers, believing that collaboration and education are essential to achieving the best possible outcomes. Outside of the operating room, Dr. Wood enjoys skiing, hiking, camping, and exploring the mountains, reflecting his appreciation for the active lifestyle that many of his patients hope to return to following treatment.
