Categories of Food Poisoning
At least 250 different kinds of food poisoning have been documented including E. coli, listeria, salmonella, and norovirus, but they can generally be grouped within three main categories:
Contamination with food poisoning organisms e.g. bacteria or virus.
Biological
Contamination by chemicals e.g. insecticides and cleaning products.
Chemical
Contamination by foreign bodies e.g. pieces of glass, plasters or broken crockery.
Physical
