The microwave is a great appliance for quickly heating and preparing food, but can often be a hotbed for germs and potential food contamination. Follow the steps below to unsure that by using the microwave you are not putting yourself or others at risk of getting ill. Using The Microwave When using the microwave ensure food is thoroughly cooked or reheated before serving. 1. 2.Allow sufficient "standing time" to ensure even heat distribution. Beware of hot/cold spots in food. Stir, turn or rearrange food during cooking. 3.
