When Choking Management Should Be Stopped

Choking management should only be stopped when:

The foreign body is expelled.

Further rescuers take over choking management.

Or the individual goes into respiratory/cardiac arrest - where basic life support techniques will be required as per your previous modules.

Any Child or Adult who required abdominal thrusts or baby who received chest thrusts should be seen by a medical practitioner due to the potential of underlying damage to tissues and organs.
