LGBTQIA+ RESOURCES
Teens take over the library for an after-hours party with a movie, crafts, games, pizza and snacks! Permission slip required.
Create DIY school accessories like locker magnets and pencil toppers or bring your own notebooks and folders to decorate with the craft supplies provided.
Engage your creativity and create your own masterpieces inspired by the artwork of great artists from around the world. ⚛ Money Smart Art Market Saturday, July 26 at 2 pm Use pretend money to purchase arts and crafts supplies for making your own creations. PRESCHOOL Stuffed Animal Sleepover Wednesday, June 11 at 6 pm Wear your PJs and bring a stuffed animal for a sleepover at the library. After storytime, tuck in the animals and say goodnight. Come back the next day to see what mischief they got into overnight! ⚛ School Skills Free Play Tuesdays, July 22 and 28 at 2 and 5:30 pm Practice skills like sorting, counting, letter and number recognition and fine and gross motor skills.
PRIDE MONTH ART SHOW SHARE YOUR STORY WITH PRIDE Art Submission Dates Odenton: May 27 - June 21 Crofton , Maryland City at Russett and Severna Park: May 27 - June 14 Submit your own artwork * at one of the locations above or stop by to create a piece during drop-in art sessions at Odenton Library on Tuesday, May 27 and Monday, June 16 from 6 to 7:30 pm . Tuesday, June 24: Art Show Reception 6 to 7:30 pm Join us for the opening celebration of our Pride Art Show, featuring artwork from customers, community members and staff of all ages. June 24 through August 2: Art Display Collection will remain on display during our gallery hours . For dates and times, visit the library’s events calendar or contact the Odenton Library. * Artwork can include anything that can be displayed on a wall—paintings, drawings, graphic design, collages, poetry, written word, and any handicrafts. Submissions are welcome from all ages who want to contribute to the broad and inclusive LGBTQIA+ community. Artists may choose to display their work anonymously or under a pseudonym. Mondays, June 23, July 28 and August 18 at 3:30 pm We'll meet each month to read several stories, play interactive games, engage in book discussions and other literacy building activities! ⚛ Create Your Own Colorful Slime Wednesday, July 9 at 3:30 pm Explore different ways to make slime while learning color theory to see who can make the most colorful slime of all! PRESCHOOL Young Child at Play Fridays at 10:30 am Young children will enjoy books, music and developmentally appropriate toys and activities during an hour of unstructured social time. ⚛ Sensory Playtime Saturdays, June 21, July 12 and August 2 at 10:30 am Join us for sensory play activities that stimulate touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing, with different stations to explore!
Keep It Cool Thursday, July 10 at 6 pm Listen to jazz and try some traditional summertime nonalcoholic mixed drinks while we share ways to stay cool in the heat.
