Elizabeth and Corey’s original wedding plans were derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
They were married in an intimate ceremony at The Wonder Bar Steakhouse in
Clarksburg, and then again on the wedding day of their dreams at Stonewall Resort.

you can meet the love of your life anywhere , including in line for coffee at an airport. Elizabeth DeVault and Corey Ray are living proof. The two were standing next to each other waiting for Starbucks at the Pittsburgh International Airport—Elizabeth flying to San Antonio on her way to meet friends in Austin, and Corey also heading to San Antonio, where he lived at the time. “He started giving me some places to go and some restaurants,” Elizabeth says. “I was eavesdropping,” Corey jokes, noting that he heard her talking about Texas and took the opportunity to strike up a conversation. They found out through that conversation that they were from the same general area around Pittsburgh—Corey from St. Clairsville, Ohio, about an hour and a half from the city, and Elizabeth from Morgantown. They kept in touch after that airport meeting. Texting turned to FaceTime calls, and FaceTime calls turned to trips to see each other. Eventually, the two were embarking on a whirlwind long-distance romance. Long-distance is hard, but they made the most of it.
“We like to travel a lot,” Corey says. “So it was a lot of fun because, instead of her flying to visit me or me flying out to visit her, we went to Nashville, we went to Tampa, we went to Key West, we went on a cruise. It was like going on super-dates.” These super-dates carried on for about eight months before the couple managed to move in together in Washington, Pennsylvania. engagement Elizabeth knew Corey had a ring—they picked it out together, and Elizabeth even had the opportunity to design it herself. But she still didn’t want to see it in person until he was ready to pop the question. It was just after New Years’, 2019, when they traveled to Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Pittsburgh. The couple love exploring botanical gardens together, and Phipps’ Winter Flower Show and Light Garden was the perfect picturesque location to pop the question.
