gabriel was scrolling through facebook when allison’s picture showed up under “People You May Know.” He didn’t know her at the time, but he knew he needed to. Chatting over Facebook led to a date at a local coffee shop—a quick meet-up that stretched to four hours. The proposal came a year later, a total surprise to Allison. While doing a photo shoot with a photographer friend of the couple, Gabriel dropped down on one knee. Their families, privy to the plan, watched from a distance as Allison said “Yes!” The ceremony took place at The Grayson House in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. The bride wore a floor-length Haley Paige gown that she would later swap for a shorter gown by the same designer for the reception. Wedding attendants wore champagne tones for a soft wash of color, with hints of red and blue incorporated into the special day in celebration of the Memorial Day weekend also taking place. Allison made her way down the aisle escorted by her father, where she and Gabriel exchanged personal vows they had each written for the ceremony. After saying their “I do’s,” the couple took a moment to lace up their dancing shoes—literally. Gabriel and Allison wore “His” and “Hers” Chuck Taylors for the reception, a simple way to bring a touch of comfort and personality to their big day. Several dance lessons leading up to the day of the wedding prepared the newlyweds for their first dance as husband and wife: a waltz to “When I Said I Do” by Clint Black. The couple cut into a simple two-tiered vanilla wedding cake and celebrated their love with those they hold dear. They enjoyed a honeymoon holiday on the Greek island of Santorini before returning home to Charleston.
