charleston native bailey rhodes and nick ferrari, originally from morgantown, met when the two worked together as accountants for the same firm. It was Bailey’s first accounting job and she was studying for her CPA exam, and she didn’t see how either of those allowed time for a new relationship despite the pair’s romantic interest in each other. They remained friends until three years later, when Nick suggested via text that the pair catch up soon. They did just that in March 2018 and were engaged less than a year later. They chose not one but three wedding dates, with the pandemic delaying the big day each time. They were legally married in a small ceremony in their back yard on May 1, 2020. But planning for a big ceremony that they would share with family and friends continued. Bailey and Nick chose to have a vow renewal ceremony at Oglebay and treated the day just like the big celebration they originally wanted. For the vow renewal, Bailey was escorted down the aisle by her father wearing a Stella York gown. The couple’s dog, Leo, served as ring bearer for the ceremony and was dressed to match the groom in a navy blue suit. After the ceremony, family and friends celebrated with the couple and enjoyed a meal of steak, crab cakes, and vegetarian pasta before carving the white wedding cake filled with raspberry marmalade and chocolate mousse. And for the father of the groom, a cookie fan, guests were treated to not one, but two cookie tables with an assortment of treats. The couple planned a honeymoon in Southeast Asia, but the pandemic has postponed that, too. They hope to venture east on their second anniversary. The couple settled into married life in Morgantown, where they both work as certified public accountants at Ferrari & Associates.
