REBEKAH NICOLE STRICKLAND & AARON JAMES CLENDENIN BOMONT | 4.24.21

rebekah, a certified medical assistant from clendenin, and Aaron, a diesel mechanic from Elkview, met when best friend Sandi Ragland introduced them at a party on Shrader Mountain in 2014. Four years later, Aaron dressed their 7-month-old son Aiden up in a tiny suit to help him ask a big question. Aaron and Aiden surprised Rebekah with the proposal, and she said “Yes!” The couple selected Taylor Made Farms in Bomont as the perfect place to say “I do.” On the day of the wedding, the bride wore an ivory- and champagne-colored Galina Signature Tulle A-line gown with a V-neck. Lace detailing, a mesh back, and a complementary belt added a touch of color. Aaron’s emotions showed clearly on his face as Rebekah made her way down the aisle escorted by her brother Derek. She carried a bouquet of assorted greenery and white flowers and met Aaron at the altar, where the couple’s friend Mikey Means officiated their union. The reception was a celebration full of laughter and dancing. The maid of honor and best man gave speeches to the crowd, the maid of honor in particular wowing guests by rapping her speech. Guests dined on chicken alfredo, salad, and garlic bread. The newlyweds took back the spotlight with their first dance to “Lady May” by Tyler Childers. A white naked cake decorated with baby’s breath and assorted greenery was shared with everyone. Matthew Pauley with Funner With Gunner kept the party going well into the night with music everyone enjoyed. Guests left with wildflower seed packets as party favors, reminding them to “let love grow.” The happy couple took off to Clearwater, Florida, for a sunny honeymoon. They have since settled into married life with their son at their home in Elkview.
