THE REGISTER

CHERYL ANNE VICKER & MATTHEW WILLIAM ANDERSON ST. CLAIRSVILLE, OHIO | 11.28.20

cheryl, a registered nurse, and matthew, a certified registered nurse anesthetist, met on the job. While a hospital isn’t necessarily the most romantic place for a “meet cute,” it turned out pretty well for this couple. After three months of working up the courage to contact Cheryl, Matthew reached out. A few weeks of messaging back and forth led to a snowy December date that would be the first of many. Just a few years later, Matthew and Cheryl planned a weekend in Pittsburgh with friends to relax and do their last bit of Christmas shopping. They stopped by an indoor light display, taking pictures as they walked around. In front of a lighted set up that spelled out “love,” a friend recorded the moment Matthew dropped down to one knee in a surprise proposal. The couple planned a traditional Catholic ceremony in Cheryl ’s hometown. Sunlight streamed in through the windows of the church, casting an ethereal glow over the room as the couple said their vows. The bride wore an ivory Allure strapless gown with bead detailing and a layered, flared skirt. She paired the gown with a sheer beaded veil and ivory textured shawl. The groom wore a navy blue tuxedo with a light gray vest and burgundy tie. For the reception, guests moved to Oglebay to watch the newlyweds take their first dance. They dined on their choice of seared chicken breast, grilled sirloin, or pasta primavera, with a salad and sides of garlic smashed potato and fresh vegetables. Capping off a lovely meal, Cheryl and Matthew cut into a four-tiered white and chocolate cake with sculpted white almond icing. The couple spent their honeymoon at Sandals in Saint Lucia, then settled into married life in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
