and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fa thers, hath the Lord brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharoah king of Egypt.” The oath and promise which He made with Abraham and confirmed to his descendants covered not only the land and the people but mainly the Seed which was Christ. This peo ple furnished a human and regal an cestry for the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour, Redeemer and King. God had in mind blessing for the whole world through Israel which will not be fulfilled until the millennium. UNSAVED MATE Q. I have become a Christian and my husband is not. Shall I now take my children and leave him? He is good to us but we have nothing in common so far as spiritual things are concerned. Is there any Scripture to help me on this? A. No, you should stay with your husband and be a loving, faithful wife so that you can lead him to Christ by your example, and testi mony. Yes, there is a definite Scrip ture to fit your situation, I Corinthi ans 7:13: “ And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.” W ITHHOLD ING OF WAGES Q. I have been told that there is a verse in the Bible which condemns unfair labor practices. Can you lo cate it for me? A. I imagine you are referring to James 5:4: “ Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth; and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.” This title is the same as that of “ Lord of hosts” and it has to do with

the Lord in His role as judge. Some day every wrong will be made right when He reigns whose right it is to rule. BEASTS OF REVELATION Q. Who were the “ beasts” of Reve lation U, 5 and 6? Who are the twen ty-four elders ? A. It is likely that they were a very high order of angel, perhaps sera phim as described in Isaiah 6:2-3; Ezekiel 1 :4-28. They are more cor rectly called “ living creatures” in Ezekiel. They are given to the wor ship of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Father and in Revelation are ac tive in the revelations and visions which John saw. It is believed that the elders are the raptured saints, twelve for the Old Testament believers and twelve for the New. There is a difference of opinion in these matters but with the 4th chapter of Revelation it ap pears that the church has been rap tured and John is being shown the church in heaven before earthly events are unfolded. JERUSALEM AS THE CAPITAL C ITY OF THE UNIVERSE Q. Are we seeing in our day the ful fillment of Micah 1:1-2 where Jeru salem is described as the capital city of the universe with all nations going up there to worship and to pay tribute? A. No, this will take place during the millennium when Christ will sit upon David’s throne. You have only to read this fourth chapter of Micah to realize that these things have not come to pass in our times. The na tions are not resorting to Jerusalem to be taught the law of the Lord; the nations are not beating their swords into plowshares. Alas, war continues in this world and so it will be until Christ comes in person as the Prince of Peace to rule and to reign.

"FALL ING A W A Y " Q. Does the expression, “falling away” in II Thessalonians 2:3, mean the backsliding of a Christian? A. No, it means something much more tragic than that; a backslid den Christian, by confessing his sin to God and receiving cleansing through the shed blood of Christ, can be restored to fellowship (I John 1:9-2:2). This is quite a different matter. The word translated falling away is the Greek apostasia which means de fection from the truth, forsaking, and apostasy. It is to be the general state of the world before the rapture of the church, after which the “man of sin,” the antichrist, will be re vealed. Because of the spiritual and moral conditions of our day, many Bible - believing teachers regard these as the days of that apostasy. Consequently, we are encouraged to “ lift up our heads” in the hope that our “ redemption draweth nigh” in the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His own. We do not know the date of the rapture but we can pray, “ Come quickly, Lord Jesus,” as we see the increasing spiritual darkness of our time. CHO ICE OF ISRAEL Q. I have often wondered why God chose the Jews as His special peo ple. Is there anything in the Bible on it? A. Yes, we read a clear statement in Deuteronomy 7:6-8: “ For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto him self, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. “ The Lord did not set His love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: “But because the Lord loved you,
