with joy and you will long to reach that heavenly home. If you have not already started on this journey, boys and girls, won’t you come along today? Receive Jesus as your Saviour and Guide (2 Cor. 6 :2) ; and don’t forget your Guide Book ^—the precious W ord o f God! In a Junior’s New Testament I found the following, several years ago, written on the first page of a junior girl’s New Testament. This girl is no longer a junior; she has grown to womanhood, and is now teaching school. I trust she has not forgotten the many wonderful things learned about God’s Word, as a junior. B lessed His Book I nteresting My Book B eautiful Our Book L ife-giving Their Book. E verlasting What the Mirror Showed One time Mr. Moody wanted to take his little boy, Will, for a trip. The little boy was to be dressed and ready to go with his father when he returned from his work. When Mr. Moody returned, his little boy said to him, “ Father, you see I am ready.” Mr. Moody looked at W ill’s face and saw that it was not clean. He said to the little boy, “ But, you are not ready. Your face is not clean.” W ill could not understand that his face was not clean, for he thought he had been made ready to go with his father. He must have been playing with something dirty and gotten dirt on his face without knowing it. Then Mr. Moody lifted his little son up before a mirror and let him see himself. The boy had to believe what he saw. _ The Bible, the Word o f God, is a mirror o f our lives. It shows us what we are in our real self before the Lord. It shows us all the wrong things in our lives. W e would not know how bad we were, if the W ord of God did not tell us. W e might think ourselves good. But we need not be troubled because we see ourselves bad. The Bible also tells us that the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. The Lord Jesus died for us on the cross, to take away our sins. So we can just trust Him and be cleansed from every sin. — S elected . What Shall I Give Him? What shall I give Him, Poor as I am— I f I were a shepherd, I’d bring Him a lamb. I f I were a rich man, I’d do my part.

The Guide Book T his is vacation time , and many boys and girls, with their parents, have taken trips away from home. I won der where you have been, or where you are now? Before you started on your trip, there were days o f planning and looking forward to the very day o f start ing. It is always such fun planning for a trip, isn’t it? There must be special prep aration, too, for suit cases must be packed with just the things that will be needed on the trip. If you make your trip by automobile, then there are days o f cohsulting road maps, locating the best road, making note o f all the detours or dangerous places to be avoided along the way. How impor tant an automobile guide book is! It has a very special place in every automobile. One o f the largest pockets is generally kept for this important little book. Then there are some folk who take trips across the ocean and visit other lands. Before a trip pf this kind is made, steam ship companies are visited, book schedules are secured, maps are consulted to locate the trip across the ocean and the ports to be visited. It must be wonderful planning a trip of this kind, don’t you think so? Only last week, we saw some missionary friends leave in a large, beautiful ship. They were sailing to a foreign land with the good news o f the gospel. In the writ ing room o f this ship, on one side of the wall, a map o f the world was beautifully painted. A line was drawn showing the course this beautiful ship was to take across the ocean. I can imagine that many times on the voyage, this map would be consulted by the travelers. There must be preparation, too, for an ocean journey. Besides consulting steam ship companies, maps, and charts, one must be sure he has a passport, giving per mission to enter the foreign land. No one sails without a passport. Yes, one must think of many things in preparation for an ocean voyage. Dear boys and girls, some o f you have taken trips this summer, and some o f you have taken your vacation at home, but there is one trip that you can all take. I hope you are already well on the way. It is a wonderful journey, for the destination is sure and certain. Yes, this is the jour ney from earth to heaven. There must be preparation for this journey as for all others. One must have a passport. The Lord Jesus says in the Word, “I am the way.” If you receive Jesus as your own Saviour, the One who died for you, God gives to you the gift o f everlasting life, and you can then truly say that you possess a passport, or ticket, for this wonderful journey (John 1:12; 5:24). That is the first step toward making this wonderful trip. People have to pay a great deal for their tickets for a long journey either by land or sea, but the remarkable thing about this journey is that the ticket is free; that is, it costs us nothing, but it
