Exhibits accepted Wednesday, September 29, from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm Exhibits released Monday, October 11, from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm JUDGING: Thursday, September 30 RULES, REGULATIONS AND INFORMATION

1. Open to North Carolina and Virginia counties: Carroll, Grayson and Patrick. Junior Division is open to Jr. Beekeepers ages 6-16 years. 2. Entries close and must be postmarked no later than midnight, September 1. Entry blanks are in back of Fair Catalog and must be completed online or mailed to Carolina Classic Fair, PO Box 68, Winston-Salem, NC 27102 or brought to the Fair Office, 421 W. 27th Street, Gate 9. There is no entry fee. 3. Exhibitors may make only one entry in each class and must be willing to certify that he/she produced all honey and beeswax entered. Honey must be of current year's production. 4. Name of exhibitor shall not be placed over the exhibit until judging is completed. NO labels on honey jars are permitted. 5. All honey entries needed to be summited in 2 glass queen body jars filled to the rim of the jar just below the cap. These factors are general guides for the use of judges and exhibitors. The assign- ment of points for each factor in judging will be at the discretion of the judges. The moisture content of Honey entries will be checked by the superintendent upon receipt at the Fair, if requested. GUIDELINES FOR JUDGING Display Factors 1. Educational and advertising value 2. Beeswax and Models Factors 1. Color: straw to canary yellow 2. Cleanliness: absence of honey, propolis and other impurities 3. Uniformity of appearance of all wax in entry 4. Aroma and texture 5. Quality and appearance of beeswax products Brood Combs Factors 1. Quality: straightness of combs, freedom from irregular and excess drone cells, absence of pollen or propolis filled cells, comb built to bottom and corners of frames, assembly and cleanliness of wooden frames 2. Uniformity: uniformity of wooden frames and cells
