with H&R Block for two years. He works with two tax associates, one of whom is both a Certified Management Accountant and farm tax specialist. They plan to add U.S.A. tax returns for next tax season. The office will be open full time until the end of tax season, with evening hours Wednesday and Thursday and Sunday if necessary. When tax season ends the office will be open about nine hours per week starting in May. Says Smith, “I’m very pleased to be fortunate enough to be able to open an H&R Block in beautiful Russell. I’ve always admired this area.” He also adds that it is helpful to bring files in early. “As soon as you have all your slips, bring them in and beat the rush.”

RUSSELL | The Warner Building at 92 Mill Street in Russell, the former home of the Russell branch of the library, is now home to H&R Block. . H&R Block, founded in 1955, is one of the world’s largest tax services providers. The Russell office, which opened Monday, is the first in the local area. There are currently offices in Ottawa, Kemptville, Rockland and Hawkesbury. Franchise owner Chris Smith of Osgoode is a former project manager who has been
