ANOTHER GREAT YEAR AT THE HARE TRUCK CENTER

It’s hard to believe the Hare Truck Center is approaching its fourth year serving Noblesville and the surrounding area. We opened the Truck Center in April 2015, and since then, business has been booming, year after year. This year was no exception. With so many great new vehicles hitting the lot this year, people have been excited. Looking ahead to next year, there’s even more to be excited about on both the Chevy and Isuzu sides of things. It’s also great to see how far we’ve come since the fire that took out part of the Truck Center in 2016. That fire did some serious damage — and thankfully, no one was hurt. It took about a year to rebuild and get everything back up to speed, but it gave us an opportunity to come back stronger than ever. We were fortunate to rise up from the ashes. Today, the shop is running at 100 percent. We get to work in a very nice facility with top-notch equipment, which gives our customers a serious advantage when it comes to servicing their vehicles. And working at the Truck Center leaves everyone here with a great feeling. We love being there for customers, for whatever they might need.

For everyone at the Truck Center, it’s exciting to see people as enthusiastic as we are for the new trucks coming down the pipeline. You might notice this month’s Truck of the Month on Page 3 is the same as last time. People can’t wait to get behind the wheel of this new Chevy!

This fall, we’re seeing more delivery and courier-type vehicles. While brick-and-mortar stores aren’t as popular as they once were, everyone still loves to shop. The difference is more people are shopping online from the comfort of their homes. Of course, this means more trucks on the roads. For us, as you might expect, that’s good news. Trucks need regular service, and that’s where we come in. This is especially true during the holiday season. There are going to be a lot of trucks out and about leading up to Christmas (and after Black Friday and Cyber Monday) as people eagerly await their packages. Then, going into spring, there will be more trucks as landscaping season starts up again (but that’s still several months out yet).

As we close out the year at the Truck Center, we have a lot going on. As always, you can check out our Facebook page ( Facebook.com/ HareTruckCenter ) for updates and weekly videos. “Truck Talk Thursday”with Todd Thurston is still going strong, and it’s a great way to catch up on all the goings on at the Truck Center! And from all of us at the Hare Truck Center, thank you for another great year! We hope you have a merry Christmas, happy holidays, and a wonderful new year! The future looks very bright, and we can’t wait to share it with you! -John Pence

Thanksgiving Prep for the Whole Family

Have a ‘Roller Derby’ Finally . While an adult should be the one to put these delicious baked goods in the oven, the whole family can help shape the dough. In fact, Care.com recommends making this a contest. Set aside a time when everyone can vie for the title of Fastest Roll Maker, and you’ll have plenty of warm, flaky, delicious treats come dinnertime.

Thanksgiving is more than just a feast; it’s about coming together as a family and being thankful for one another. So why wait to get into the spirit until everyone is seated at the table? Here are a few ways you can make the actual preparation of Thanksgiving dinner fun and engaging for the whole family! Give Everyone a Role No, not those rolls — yet. Making the feast a family project can turn the day from a hectic list of chores into a magical bonding experience. It’s important to match each family member to a job that best fits their abilities. Young children can mash potatoes or rinse ingredients in the sink. Older kids can take on more responsibility, like measuring ingredients, keeping an eye on timers, and setting the table. Teens and young adults can supervise their younger siblings and cousins in these important tasks and may be called upon to stir what’s on the stove while an adult checks on the football game. Roll Out the Decorations

Letting everyone play a part may take a little more planning and add slightly more chaos to your Thanksgiving preparations. But it’s sure to produce a lot of great memories and bonding moments among your loved ones. And by the time you sit down to eat, you’ll all have something to be thankful for right in front of you — Those. Delicious. Rolls .

Still not talking about bread . Not everything in Thanksgiving preparation needs to be tied to the kitchen. Creative family members of all ages can work together to bring some seasonal flare to the dining room. Maybe this means picking up some Thanksgiving coloring books, or perhaps the family can venture outdoors to collect autumn trimmings for crafts. It’s a great way to let each family member put their own personal spin on the holiday!

Are You Winter-Ready? From Tires to Tuneups, Get Your Fleet Up to Speed

We have three months of winter ahead of us. Here’s the question: Are you ready to handle the road conditions that come with it?

In many cases, having the right tires is more important than the drivetrain, depending on road conditions. This year, avoid the winter worry. Put your mind at ease during every storm, freeze, and snowfall.

When it comes to handling our Indiana winters, staying in control can often come down to having the right set of tires on your vehicle, whether it’s a commercial truck or your family’s daily driver.

The Hare Truck Center is here to make sure your fleet is ready to handle the toughest Midwestern winter conditions.

Even better — like us, you can trust Isuzu FleetValue. As always, FleetValue parts meet the OEM performance standards for your Isuzu trucks. THE ALL-NEW 2019 CHEVY SILVERADO CHASSIS CAB

The new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD trucks are knocking on our door. Everyone at the Truck Center has been anticipating the new truck since it was unveiled earlier in the spring. We know a lot of our customers are eagerly awaiting the truck too!

If you haven’t read about the 2019 Silverado, here are a few details that have people excited:

It’s more fuel-efficient. For the 2019 model year, Chevy is introducing Dynamic Fuel Management in the Silverado. This system directs cylinders to not fire in certain circumstances. As a result, it boosts fuel economy. In the new Silverado, it may be a boost of about 5 percent. On the diesel side of things, the turbo-diesel will have start/stop technology, which will also be a feature of the 6.2-liter V8. The truck is also being built using lighter materials. The hood, doors, and tailgate, for instance, are made of aluminum. When it comes to the V8 crew cabs, the truck has lost 450 pounds over the 2018 model. It’s bigger. It starts with a bigger wheelbase, which helps accommodate a bigger bed (7 more inches of floor space width over the 2018 model). There’s a bigger back seat in the four-door crew cab — 3 more inches of legroom. There’s also more storage space in the back seat!

And with a bigger bed, Chevy decided to offer a power-operated tailgate option, meaning you can now open or close the tailgate with the push of a button — from the key fob or from in the cabin. These details only begin to scratch the surface of the new 2019 Silverado. For more, check out Facebook.com/haretruckcenter, give us a call, or stop on by —we’d be happy to chat with you about this fantastic new truck!

just an unsightly truck, Isuzu can help you with a new Isuzu truck that will provide years of trouble-free operation with warranties and maintenance wrapped around the purchase. Check out this website for more information that can put you in the driver’s seat of a new Isuzu truck: www.section179.org . Although I possess many talents, providing tax advice is NOT one of them, so please talk to your tax accountant about how these changes will impact your specific tax situation. Let’s get together to discuss your transportation needs and we’ll see how our dealership and Isuzu commercial trucks fit in to your business.

A Historic Veterans Day

A Historic Veterans Day COMMEMORATING THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE END OF WORLD WAR I

This year, Veterans Day takes on particular historic significance: Nov. 11, 2018, marks the 100th anniversary of the armistice that ended the First WorldWar. Countries around the world will commemorate the signing of this peace agreement with moments of silence, centennial ceremonies, and historical exhibits. Unlike Memorial Day, Veterans Day is a celebration of life. It’s a day to honor the power of peace and the living veterans across the globe who have served their countries. This November, take a moment to remember the war that helped shape the international community’s dedication to peace and thank the individuals who served to defend it. The Great War By 1914, a world war had been years in the making, but the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of the Austro-Hungarian Empire by a Serbian nationalist provided the spark that would eventually burn down much of Europe. A chain reaction of land disputes, pre-emptive attacks, and strategic alliances brought over 30 countries intoWorldWar I.

The Great War that ravaged Europe resulted in a devastating loss of life, but from those ashes rose a renewed appreciation for the importance of peace and a global effort to ensure its place in the future. The Restoration of Peace In 1918, Germany surrendered unconditionally, and the armistice ended the fighting at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, though the war did not officially end until the signing of the Treaty of Versailles the following July. An estimated 16 million soldiers and civilians died in just four years, making it one of the deadliest conflicts in modern history. Veterans Day Originally called Armistice Day, Veterans Day was first observed on Nov. 11, 1919, to honor the one-year anniversary of the armistice, and it became a U.S. holiday in 1938. Today, Veterans Day celebrates veterans who served their country honorably. The U.K., France, Australia, and Canada also commemorate their veterans in November. If you know a veteran, thank them for their service this month.
