The Cheatham County School District offers rich art programs
Students Grant Patterson and Elizabeth Pardo perform in a production at Harpeth High School.
The Cheatham County School District is proud to provide students with the resources to develop their tal- ent, abilities and interests in art, music and theatre. The district offers a comprehensive fine arts program for all students in grades K-12, and students have various op- portunities for creative expression, including band, choir, theatre and art shows. Elementary students receive general music instruction on a regular schedule. Middle and high schools offer a broad spectrum of visual and performing arts classes. Our high schools feature award-winning marching bands and stage multiple theatrical productions throughout the year.
Additionally, the district hosts annual county-wide Art Show at the Cheatham County Public Library in May. The highly-successful show features the astonishing work of hundreds of students. In 2019, Pegram Elementary School became the district’s first fine arts magnet school. The school added new dis- ciplines and content to its arts curriculum and integrated arts into the four core subject areas to help students build skills in communication, collaboration and creativ- ity. Students also attend a weekly arts personal develop- ment class.
