Doriana Fuksas
Doriana Mandrelli Fuksas nasce a Roma, dove consegue la laurea in Storia dell’Archi- tettura Moderna e Contemporanea presso l’Università “La Sapienza” nel 1979. Laure- ata in Architettura all’ESA - ÉcoleSpéciale d’Architecture - di Parigi, Francia. Ha svolto attività didattiche presso il Dipartimento di Storia dell’Arte della Facoltà di Lettere e il Dipartimento di Industrial Design ITACA dell’università “La Sapienza” di Roma. Nel 2000 per la “VII Mostra Internazionale di Architettura di Venezia”, “LessAesthetics, More Ethics”, ha curato quattro “Progetti Speciali”: Jean Prouvé, Jean Maneval, il Pa- diglione della Pace e dell’Architettura degli Spazi e la sezione dedicata all’arte con- temporanea. Dal 1985 collabora con Massimiliano Fuksas e dal 1997 è responsabile di “Fuksas Design”. Nel 2002 è insignita dell’onorificenza di “Officier de l’OrdredesArts et desLettres de la Républiqu eFrançaise”. Nel 2006 il Nuovo Polo Fiera di Rho-Pero a Milano riceve il primo premio agli “Awards for Excellence Europe”dell’ ULI (Urban Land Institute), Washington D.C., mentre nel 2012 Nuovo Centro Congressi EUR di Roma viene premiato come “Best Building Site” ai “Wallpaper* Design Awards 2012” di Londra. Nel 2013 Doriana Fuksas è stata insignita dell’onorificenza di “Comman- deur de l’Ordredes Arts et des Lettres de la République Française”. Nello stesso anno, agli “Idea-Tops Awards” in China, lo Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport – T3 viene premiato come “Best Transportation Space”e il lavabo Impronta per Catalano viene premiato con l’Oro per la sezione “Innovationin Design – BathroomProducts” ai “De- signer Kitchen &Bathroom Awards 2013” di Londra. Dal 2014 al 2015, Doriana Fuksas cura con Massimiliano Fuksas la rubrica di Design del quotidiano italiano “La Repubblica”. Nel 2020 è stata insignita dell’onoreficenza “Chevalier de l’Ordre de La Légion d’honneur Française”.
Doriana Mandrelli Fuksas was born in Rome where she graduated in History of Modern and Contemporary Architecture at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 1979. She has also earned a degree in Architecture from ESA, École Spéciale d’Architecture, Paris. She has done didactic activities at the Institute of History of Art at the Faculty of Letters and Arts and at Industrial Design Department ITACA at “La Sapienza” University in Rome. She has curated four “Special Projects” at the “VII Mostra Internazionale di Architettura di Ve- nezia”, Less Aesthetics, More Ethics in 2000: Jean Prouvè, Jean Maneval, the Peace Pa- vilion and Architecture of Spaces, and the Contemporary Art section. She has worked with Massimiliano Fuksas in 1985 and has been director in charge of “Fuksas Design” since 1997. In 2002 she was decorated Officier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres de la Républiq- ue Française. In 2006 Awards for Excellence Europe” ULI (Urban Land Institute), first prize awarded to New Trade Fair Rho-Pero in Milan. In 2012 Wallpaper* Design Awards 2012, New Rome-Eur Congress Centre awarded Best Building Site. In 2013 she was decorated Commandeur de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres de la République Française. The same year the Idea-Tops Awards, Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport-T3, awarded Best Tran- sportation Space in Shenzhen, China. From 2014 to 2015 he was the author of the Design column in the Italian newspaper “La Repubblica”. On January 1st, 2020, Doriana Fuksas was awarded the title of Chevalier de l’Ordre de la Légion d’Honneur Française.
