A Rededication to Chapter The Albany (GA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. held a planning and social retreat on the West Campus of Albany State University, bringing together chapter officers, board members, and committee chairmen for strategic development and fellowship. Newly elected Polemarch Dominique W. Riggins and Vice Polemarch Dr. John I. Davis III presented a comprehensive strategic plan and administrative vision, emphasizing the "Three C’s"—Chapter, Campus, and Community—as guiding pillars for growth and impact. Brothers participated in team-building exercises and collaborated to develop the fraternal year’s calendar, strengthening unity and alignment with the chapter’s mission. Notably, this retreat marked the beginning of the chapter’s formal meetings on the West Campus, signifying a renewed presence and engagement at Albany State University.
The Albany (GA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. ushered in a historic milestone with its closed Founders’ Day Banquet on Sunday, January 12, 2025. Held at The Event Center at the Northwest Library on Dawson Road in Albany, GA, the evening served as the chapter’s first fraternal gathering of the new year, marking the beginning of its highly anticipated 75th Diamond Jubilee Celebration. With an atmosphere of reverence and unity, the banquet commenced promptly at 4:11 p.m. as Brother Quincy Hughes, the chapter’s Lt. Strategus, called the event to order. The Establishment of Protocol was led by Brother Brandon M. Jones, the chapter’s Reporter, ensuring the evening unfolded with the proper decorum and respect for fraternity traditions. The spiritual foundation of the gathering was set with a heartfelt Invocation and Grace delivered by Brother Kevin L. Kinnel, Board Member and Chaplain.
Extending a warm welcome, Brother Dr. John I. Davis III, Chapter Vice Polemarch, and Brother Brian C. Mock, 27th Southeastern Province Polemarch, greeted the attendees with words of encouragement and fraternity pride. Brother Dr. J. Edward Vance Jr. then eloquently delivered the Occasion, reminding all present of the significance of Founders’ Day and the chapter’s rich legacy of leadership, service, and brotherhood. As the program continued, guests were treated to a scrumptious buffet meal, a true highlight of the evening. The menu featured freshly baked dinner rolls with butter, crisp mixed green salad
drizzled with balsamic and ranch dressings, succulent prime rib served with rich gravy, savory roasted chicken, seasoned French green beans, fluffy rice, and an array of decadent desserts. A selection of refreshing beverages, including water, lemonade, tea, and coffee, complemented the meal, providing a perfect balance to the evening’s fine dining experience. Following dinner, the Tribute to Polemarchs was presented by Brother Dr. Brandon Henry, the chapter’s assistant Keeper of Records, recognizing the dedicated leadership and service of Brother Brian C. Mock at the provincial level and Brother Dominique W. Riggins at the chapter level. Their unwavering commitment to the fraternity’s mission was celebrated with deep appreciation. A major highlight of the night was the keynote address delivered by Brother Dr. Keith Moffett, introduced by Brother Dr. Derek J. Heard, Chairman of the Founders’/Charter Day Committee. With the theme “A Lifetime of Brotherhood, A Lifetime of Service”, Brother Dr. Moffett captivated the audience, reflecting on the fraternity’s foundational principles and the responsibility of each brother to uphold its values.
