Moore, who offered words of reflection and fraternity unity. A Tribute to the Founders, led by Brother Jesse Jackson Jr., honored the visionary men who established Kappa Alpha Psi, ensuring that their legacy continues to guide the brotherhood. In his closing remarks, Polemarch Dominique W. Riggins extended heartfelt gratitude to all who played a role in making the banquet a success. He reminded the brothers of the significance of the chapter’s 75th chartering anniversary, emphasizing the importance of continued dedication to the fraternity’s values of leadership, service, and achievement. The evening concluded with a Rededication Ceremony, as Brothers Brian C. Mock and Anthony C. Kelly led brothers in the Oath of Rededication, reaffirming their commitment to the bond of Kappa Alpha Psi. The spirit of fraternity and unity carried through as Brother Albert Jones led the Toast and the singing of the Kappa Alpha Psi Hymn, followed by a closing Benediction from Brother Kevin L. Kinnel. Following the formal program, brothers gathered for continued fellowship, capturing chapter photographs, professional headshots, and documentary interviews, reflecting on the chapter’s enduring legacy and impact. This memorable evening not only honored the fraternity’s 114th Founders’ Day but also marked the beginning of a monumental year of celebration, service, and achievement as the Albany (GA) Alumni Chapter moves forward into its 75th Diamond Jubilee Year.
Brothers attended the Albany Metro Area Chapter of the National Pan-Hellenic Council’s annual meeting, where they received valuable insights on upcoming initiatives from the council and fellow Divine Nine organizations. Brothers Michael Moore and Albert Jones represented the chapter, with Moore serving as an officer and Jones as a past president. Brothers also traveled to Columbus, GA, to join the Columbus (GA) Alumni Chapter and the Eta Theta Chapter at Columbus State University in celebrating the fraternity’s 114th Founders’ Day. Brother Odell Taylor, SEP Board of Director (GA), delivered the keynote address, offering reflections on the fraternity’s legacy and future. A Rededication to Community In the spirit of Christmas and Kappa Alpha Psi, brothers sponsored more than 15 local elementary school children during our annual Shop With A Kappa event. Each child received a $150 gift card and had the opportunity to select toys of their choice for Christmas, making the holiday season brighter for local families.
Brothers, alongside other members of the Albany Metro Pan- Hellenic Council, volunteered as Readers, Scorekeepers, and Judges for the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) Regional Academic Bowl for Middle Grades Competition (Region 11). The event took place at Robert A. Cross Middle Magnet School, where Dr. Thelma B. Chunn serves as Principal.
With a primary focus on maternal health and a featured food distribution, the brothers partnered with the Zeta Psi Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. in Dawson, GA, to support their Project Cradle Care initiative. Through this collaboration, the brothers assisted in providing essential resources and services to expectant mothers and families in need. In the spirit of Christmas and Kappa Alpha Psi, brothers sponsored, packed, and donated over 30 food baskets to families in need during this annual Christmas event at International Studies Charter Elementary School, where Brother Dr. John I. Davis, III serves as principal.
On Monday, January 20, 2025, at 7:30 a.m., the brothers attended the H.E.A.R.T. Organization, Inc.’s 45th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Breakfast at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Westover Road. This gathering served as a meaningful opportunity to support the organization and honor the legacy of Dr. King. Notably, brothers showed their
