LAWRENCEVILLE-DULUTH (GA) ALUMNI CHAPTER Spreading More Joy: LDAC’s Commitment to Service As the holiday season approached, the Lawrenceville-Duluth Alumni Chapter set its sights on a new goal: collecting and donating toys to families in need throughout Gwinnett County. This year, the chapter sought to make an even greater impact, and their efforts proved to reach a new milestone. On December 14, 2024, the LDAC Brothers gathered at TJ Maxx in Snellville, GA, to shop for toys, carefully selecting gifts that would bring joy to children during the holiday season. Brothers Michael Shaw and Torris Lloyd coordinated with the chapter to distribute the donations at the Invitation Event Suites, benefiting survivors of domestic violence. The event was a touching reminder of the importance of supporting those facing hardship, particularly during the holidays. After their morning of shopping and giving, the Brothers continued their commitment to community service by completing the Chapter’s Adopt-a-Road project on Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville, GA. This initiative not only helps keep the local environment clean but also strengthens the Fraternity’s presence and dedication to civic responsibility. On December 19, 2024, the LDAC Brothers delivered the remainder of the collected toys to the Gwinnett County Police Department. The GCPD hosts an annual “Fill the Sleigh” Drive, and LDAC has been a proud participant for multiple years. With the contributions to both donation sites, LDAC set a new chapter record, collecting and donating 400 toys to children in need. The spirit of giving continued on December 23, 2024, when LDAC Brothers Steve Dowdley, Will Owens, Barnes Chatelain, and Rodney Wayne volunteered with the Home for the Holidays program in College Park. The brothers played an integral role in food distribution efforts, ensuring people received meals during
