WE’RE GROWING!!!

290 Speigletown Road, Troy, NY 12182

It is very important for us to continue to deliver the highest quality Physical Therapy services in order to continue to help people move well so they can get back to living their lives. It has also always been our priority to build relationships with the awesome people we meet through Physical Therapy and not just solely treat patients. By having a second, smaller sized clinic we believe we’ll be able to offer the same family-like feel at two convenient locations as opposed to moving to a larger facility. If you’re interested in following along with our progress and the transformation of the new clinic we’ll be posting updates on our Facebook page!

(continued from outside)

We’re also very fortunate as we get to celebrate a few birthdays in the summer months! Dominic (soon to be 5) and Cora (soon to be 3) both have birthdays in August and Choice PT turned 4 on June 15th! As a team we are continuously humbled by the support we have received from our community. It is both an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to help so many individuals with their Physical Therapy needs over the past 4 years. Word of mouth has continued to be the main way we’re introduced to new people and there truly is no greater compliment. As our team has grown we’ve reached what we feel is our capacity at the old car wash on Campbell Ave. Faced with this “good problem to have” we’re extremely excited to announce our second location will be opening in Speigletown by the end of the summer/early fall of this year!

Thank you again for all your support and stay tuned for many more exciting details to follow!

Enjoy the summer! Joe & Erin

THE PROBLEM WITH POSTURE

Working with a physical therapist can help you to identify whether or not your headaches may be the result of neck pain or strain. One of the most common causes of headaches due to neck pain is forward head position. Forward head position means that when you are resting your head, you are continuing to hold your head slightly forward, which is a type of slouching position. You can identify whether or not you have a forward head position by standing straight against the wall and determining whether or not your head rests against the wall as your back does. If your head does not touch the wall when you are standing straight, then you aren’t fully standing up straight! As years go by and day after day you continue to hold your head in this forward position, you can start to experience pain as a result of strain in the muscles of the neck. When this is an issue, working with a physical therapist may be able to help. Stretching the muscles in your neck to alleviate neck strain can reduce the severity and regularity of your headaches. Stretching the muscles that have grown tight along the back of your neck as well as those along the shoulders can help you find relief from the tension that is causing your pain.

you can try at home to begin stretching your neck muscles, working with a physical therapist is the only way to ensure that you are stretching in a way that won’t potentially lead to greater injury.
