secondary students can choose to stop studying science and maths completely if they want. Should science and maths become obligatory for all secondary students? First of all , you need to study science for many important jobs in the 21 st century. To be a doctor, an engineer or an architect, knowledge of science is essential. Furthermore , it isn’t only in the world of work that science and maths are useful. Technology is everywhere and science can help us to understand and use it better. In addition , science subjects teach us to solve problems, think logically and analyse information objectively. These skills are useful in all areas of life. However , is it a good idea to make students study subjects that they don’t like or find difficult? In those cases, the students won’t learn much in obligatory science classes. Secondly , it’s obvious that not everybody wants a job connected with science. What’s more , despite the fact that technology is all around us, you don’t need to be a scientist to use a computer, smartphone or any other gadget. To sum up , I think that, on the one hand , science subjects are very useful in the modern world. But on the other hand , not everybody is good at science or enjoys it, so making science obligatory would not have a positive impact on students’ lives. In fact, I believe it may have the opposite effect!
