HEALTHY BODIES AND MINDS

Lesson aim: To think about how different sports and types of exercise can be good for us Video: Supporting new Olympic sports SEL Social and emotional learning: Managing mental stress and tiredness

5 Sport and physical exercise can help us to stay healthy. Read about three different types of exercise and how they help. THREE TYPES OF EXERCISE 1 AEROBIC EXERCISE When you do this frequently, you build stamina. You can continue to do exercise for a long time and don’t get tired immediately as your heart becomes more efficient at sending oxygen to your muscles. 2 EXERCISE TO BUILD YOUR STRENGTH When you do exercise, you don’t only want to make your heart strong, but also make your muscles strong. This helps you to stay active and full of energy. Strong muscles protect your body. 3 EXERCISE TO IMPROVE YOUR FLEXIBILITY This exercise helps your muscles to move easily and in many different positions. You need good flexibility to swim, dance or do gymnastics, but also to play football or basketball. Lorem ipsum 6a speaking Work in a small group. Think about the sports you saw in the video in 2.
