To: Luke From: Gisela Subject: End of exams party! Hi Luke,
How are you? I hope your exams are going well. I’ll have finished by next week. What about you, will you have finished by then? Guess what! I’m having an end-of-exams party! It’s next Saturday, 12 th July. Can you come? Hope so We’re having a barbecue so we’ll be starting to cook around 12 pm. There’ll be loads of food, but please bring your own drinks! Come around then if you can. We’ll be putting up decorations and you can help out. I’ll be inviting lots of people from your old school and Jules will be playing the music in the afternoon. I’d love to see you there. By the way, I’m going to need a few friends to clean up afterwards, so if you can stay and help that’d be great. Please, please come! Gisela

Hi Gisela, It’s great to get your news! I know, I can’t wait for school exams to finish either. I’ve been working so hard! Thanks so much for the invitation. My exams will have finished by then, too, so that’s fantastic. What a great idea! Do you still live at 14 Richmond Road? It’s the blue house, isn’t it? I’m a vegetarian so, if it’s OK, I’ll bring my own plant-based burgers. I can bring fruit juice too, no problem. I’d love to help you with the decorations, but I can’t get there until 2 pm, I’m afraid. I’ve got football practice that morning. It’ll be great to see all my old friends from school – who’s coming? Can’t wait to hear Jules! I’m really sorry, but I’m going to my brother’s 21 st birthday party that evening so I won’t be able to help you clean up. But I’ll come over the next day and give you a hand. I’m sure there’ll still be lots to do. Really looking forward to it – see you on the 12 th ! Luke
