FEBRUARY. 4, 1945 ONE O’ER ALL THE EARTH E phesians 2:19-22; C olossians 3:11 By Roy E. Creighton Christian Endeavor is sixty-four years old on February 2* 1945. The following lesson is planned to observe that anniversary and to evaluate'the contribution that Christian Endeavor has made around the world. For Those Who Have Topics I. THE MOTIVE. Our Saviour’s commission to His followers was: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatso ever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world” (Matt. 28:19, 20). Christ died for all men, “that who soever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God is no respecter of persons. All have sinned, but all can be made alive by faith in the finished work of Christ. The Apostle Raul, writing to the Colossian Christians, says: “Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, cir cumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbar ian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all” (3:11). When we become Christians we belong to God’s family, and with Him there is no difference between His children, whether rich or poor, boss or laborer, black or white. There is ho superior race with Him.
Brotherhood of man." How wonderful it-is that all can become children of God by faith in Christ Jesus, and that God then becomes their Father and all Christians are made brothers in Christ (John 1:12)! This glorious fact has been the motivating power of world-wide Christian Endeavor.
All men are strangers and foreign ers to God because of sin. “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; but the Lord hath laid on him the iniq uity of us all” (Isa. 53:6). This fact does away with-the popular phrase, “The Universal Fatherhood of God and
