Assessment Academic work is assessed through an ongoing assignment-based format that includes group discussions, individual and group research, group activities and tutorials. Entry Requirements You will need mainly grades 2 at GCSE (including English and Mathematics at 3 or above) and you will need to demonstrate a keen interest in working in an early years working environment. As you will be working with children, you will need to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Overview This inspirational introductory programme is for anyone interested in launching a successful career in the early years sector. You will gain insight into working with children, the physical and emotional care needs of children, healthy eating and keeping children safe. Within this qualification, there are additional short courses aimed at enhancing your employability. These cover areas such as communication skills and the importance of equality and diversity. Structure On this course you will study: – Physical and emotional care needs of children – Physical activities – Healthy eating – Keeping children safe The course programme also contains additional short courses to enhance employability skills. You will also have the opportunity to undertake work experience in early years settings.
