managed, and materials testing methods and techniques – Business, commercial and financial awareness Basic commercial principles including commercial priorities and markets, customers/ clients/partners and resource allocation In Year 2, you will study: – Content that will develop your knowledge of concepts, theories and core skills relevant to automotive light and electric vehicles – Learn about maintenance and repair processes and carry out suitable testing, recording and reporting practices – Learn about health and safety procedures required when working with electric vehicles, hazards surrounding electric/hybrid vehicles and reducing risk – Learn about primary and auxiliary systems, energy storage and transfer, drive devices and their purpose and electronic and mechanical measurement techniques and diagnostics Teaching and Learning You will be taught on campus three days a week with a full time programme of lessons in our engineering/automotive workshops. We provide the specialist knowledge and industry expertise to prepare you for employment with some of the best engineering and automotive companies and employers. Each week you will also work with one of our partner employers, who are leaders in this industry, and they will help you apply the theory and skills learnt in college to real industry applications. Assessment You will be assessed through an exam, industrial placement, work-based project and synoptic assessment. Progression On completion of this T Level, you could secure jobs such as electric vehicle technician, motor mechanic or motor vehicle breakdown engineer.

By 2030 fossil fuel vehicles will stop being produced and by 2035 so will Hybrid vehicles, making electric vehicles the future. Structure In Year 1 you will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector, including: – Working within the engineering, manufacturing and automotive sectors An understanding of how materials, conditions and context influence design processes and products – Essential mathematics for engineering A knowledge and understanding of mathematics including standard matrices and determinants and standard trigonometry materials and their properties – Understanding material processing techniques and their effects on materials and material quality, the condition of materials, how these are
