Assessment Assessment of the qualification will comprise of practical tasks, workbooks tasks and knowledge-based questions with some online multiple choice tests. Assessments are completed in accordance with current industry standards and practice. Progression You may progress to a Level 3 programme with a Merit profile. The course is suitable for progression to employment in motorsport or motor vehicle-related employment such as local garages. A Merit grade profile is required for progression to year two. Entry Requirements Minimum four GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and Mathematics, or progression from appropriate automotive qualifications.
Overview This dynamic two-year course now includes an introduction to motorsport and will give you an understanding of electrical and mechanical systems used for the operation, design and maintenance of motor vehicles. You will study motorsport event regulations and participate in setting up motorsport vehicles and inspections during competitions. An insight into the motor industry will be gained through workshop sessions, including diagnostic equipment. The workshop at our South Downs Campus houses a wide range of vehicles to give you as much variety as possible. Embedded essential skills will develop numeracy, communication and ICT to build your confidence.
