– Sports injuries – Planning and instructing personal training (client interview, fitness testing, behaviour change, planning and instructing) – Management (people management) – Marketing – Entrepreneurship Teaching & learning Your teaching team consists of qualified sports therapists and personal trainers, all of whom have valuable and current industry experience alongside being fully qualified teachers. This combination provides a study programme which is designed to ensure you receive up to date content in a coherent and structured format. Assessment A range of practical assessments will be required both one-to-one and in groups. A comprehensive portfolio of learning will be maintained throughout the year, which will be in a written format. Two 90-minute multiple choice exams will be set at the end of each year. There will also be case studies and a treatment clinic. Progression With this qualification you can work as a gym instructor, personal trainer or sports massage therapist either for your own business or in industry. You can also progress into a Higher Education course in sports science, exercise science or sports development. Entry Requirements Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including Science, English Language and Mathematics.
Overview This comprehensive fitness diploma is the first of its kind. It offers over £8,000 worth of technical certificates ranging from personal training to sports massage and entrepreneurism, as well as registered UCAS accreditation for application to university. In June 2020, HSDC created a partnership with Surrey Strom. Our work with their Futures Academy offers our Personal Training students the opportunity to work with elite young athletes, supporting with the delivery of a mixture of fitness tests alongside individual strength and conditioning sessions. On successful completion of this course, you will have certification in 14 areas, please see our website for the list of these areas.
