Havant & South Downs Campuses Full Time Prospectus 23/24

DIGITAL EXCELLENCE Digital learning has many advantages, including its ability to create a fluid teaching environment where the resources most needed and valuable are accessible at all times, even outside of college hours. Online platforms empower teachers, as well as students, to share their ideas and questions and gives them the ability to learn from each other. Our platforms include Google Classroom among other industry-standard learning resources and various apps. Google Classroom has been our central digital platform across the majority of subjects for many years. Students enjoy engaging materials such as YouTube clips and detailed presentations relating to their chosen topic. Students can learn at their own pace and ask questions via the comments section, allowing questions they may feel uncomfortable asking in class in front of their peers. Many students submit their work online through Google Classroom and receive feedback in the same way, increasing sustainability with paperless technology. Other industry-standard learning resources give students extra support when it comes to revision and assessment, from videos of lessons to specially recorded and annotated online lectures, and specific apps for study on a phone or a tablet.

“We recognise and appreciate how HSDC teaching staff play such a pivotal role in our students’ lives; they are inspiring our students through the use of innovative and creative digital technology and making a difference to their wellbeing and long-term success.” Suki Dhesi Vice Principal Students, Learning & Quality
