COMBINED CADET FORCE The Combined Cadet Force (CCF) programme is available to all HSDC students, no matter what you are studying. The CCF offers a varied syllabus of activities including: • Adventure Training
• Fieldcraft • Shooting • Military Skills • Map and Compass
CCF has been recognised as a first-class extracurricular activity for the development of young people. CCF provides exciting opportunities to exercise responsibility and leadership in a disciplined environment. You will have the opportunity to improve your general fitness and wellbeing, as well as build strong friendships. Cadet training takes place during weekly parades in College and this is supplemented with the following: • Whole-day field days • Weekend training • Adventure training sessions • Annual camps and courses run by the Cadet Training Team and adult volunteers. We are cap badged to the Royal Military Police (RMP) and therefore utilise facilities and staff at the Defence School of Policing and Guarding (DSPG) - Southwick Park to enhance our CCF programme. DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S AWARD SCHEME Develop work-ready skills and build your CV with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme at all our campuses. We give you the opportunity to work towards your Gold award, which enables you to get involved in voluntary work, be part of a team and help develop your organisational skills – all excellent preparation for university and beyond.
