CREATIVE MEDIA PRODUCTION & TECHNOLOGY UAL Level 2 Diploma Venue: South Downs Campus Duration: 1 year

Structure The course covers introductory knowledge and the real life working skills relevant to you if you aspire to work in the media industry. This full time course at HSDC South Downs is made up of the following eight units: – Unit 1 - Introduction to creative media methods and skills – Unit 2 - Introduction to production techniques in creative media – Unit 3 - Understanding an audience in creative media production – Unit 4 - Contextual research for creative media production – Unit 5 - Exploring audio production and technology – Unit 6 - Exploring visual production and technology – Unit 7 - Exploring interactive media production and technology – Unit 8 - Personal project and presentation in creative media production Teaching & learning You will be taught by high-quality teaching and support staff, with specialist skills and industry experience. The course will be delivered through lectures and workshops, with a mixture of practical projects and written assessments for you to complete. Assessment You will be expected to produce portfolios of evidence and a major final project which will be assessed and verified. Progression If you achieve a Merit or above you may progress to any of the following courses: – UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology - Journalism and Communications – UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production - Film and TV production – UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production - Digital Games Design & Development – BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Esports Entry Requirements Five GCSEs at grade 3 including English Language and Mathematics.

Overview The Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology has been designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further study and training in a range of media-related subjects, including games design, website design, film, TV, radio, sound engineering and others. The qualification has been designed for those that have an interest in media, often a specific discipline such as games design, who wish to explore and extend this interest via a full time, immersive learning experience. You may have identified a specific career in the creative industries that you wish to progress to (e.g. games designer, app designer, broadcast technician, cameraman, director etc) and will be able to use this qualification as a starting point. Importantly, you’ll learn through lectures, workshops and practical projects under the guidance of lecturers with professional media backgrounds. You’ll also study skills in English Language and Mathematics if necessary.
