Introduction The course is a practical, work related course. You will acquire knowledge, understanding and the skills needed if you are interested in a career in law.

It is also useful as a BTEC qualification generally as it shows that you can study to AS and A2 level. This course will provide students with an understanding of how the legal system in this country works, as well as providing them with the opportunity to research different aspects of our legal system.

Aims of the Course

Students will need to be motivated and capable of working independently with minimal guidance.

How You Are Assessed

In the Extended Certificate, 2 units are exams and 2 units are internally assessed.

Year 12:

Unit 1: Dispute solving in Civil Law (exam)

Unit 2: Investigating Aspects of Criminal Law (internal assessment)

Year 13:

Unit 3: Applying the Law (exam)

Unit 5: Consumer Law (internal assessment)
