2021 Q3

additional ‘high maintenance’ group checking in at the last minute. Snoop Dog’s Triller Fight Club, including famous boxers and fans, appeared throughout the lobby in preparation of two press conferences and the fight weigh-in; yet NADOA guests were not neglected or forgotten. To the contrary, several fighters even stopped to take pictures with us. Okay..maybe we approached them as they wandered onto the conference floor or were on the way to the gym (hee hee), but they were all super nice and really easy on the eyes. We will just count this as an extra ‘perk’ to a great conference. Thank you to Lucretia Jones for guiding me as this year’s hotel chair. I couldn’t have done it without you. It was a pleasure working with the entire Institute Committee and I cannot encourage you all enough to step up and be a part of a future Institute Committee; it is very rewarding. I have read the reviews, remarks and requests from the Institute Survey and I can assure you, all of these are taken into consideration for future conferences. It’s a lot of VOLUNTEER work for the board and committee members and I for one am ever so thankful for all your time and efforts. If you get a chance, take the time to just say thank you to each of these members.

The 2021 NADOA Institute may have been held during a troubling time, but the love and kindness of everyone is truly what made this one a very special and successful conference. The Institute committee rose to the top and worked its magic to make this a fun and engaging experience. It was so great to see everyone ‘in person’ and we thank all for being open to the togetherness. I apologize if my hugs offended anyone….but I sure did need and appreciate each of them. I have truly missed the comradery of this great annual event. I want to send out a special thank you to Marty Clarke, Brian Justin, Stacy Pedrick, and the entire Marriott Harbor Resort staff. So much has changed over the past 2 years when this institute was first contracted, and these folks went out of their way to work with us to make adjustments to make this event happen. Thanks to NuNu and the beach staff who excelled at keeping us fed, hydrated and entertained while we basked in the sun.

Until we meet again…stay safe, stay kind and stay humble!
