Main duties and responsibilities: • Maintain EMR documentation and records. • Conduct internal EMR audits and reports.
• Design and distribute promotional posters, leaflets and other material. • • Manage the Warp-It furniture recycling platform. Miscellaneous • Exemplify and promote the values of the University. Have a strong commitment to coaching and developing; working cooperatively with colleagues; valuing the contribution of others and sharing knowledge and expertise. • Undertake other duties of a reasonable nature, as may be determined by the postholder’s supervisor from time to time, in consultation with the postholder. • Carry out all duties in accordance with the University’s Equal Opportunities Policy and other policies designed to protect members of staff or students from harassment. It is the duty of the postholder not to act in a prejudicial or discriminatory manner towards members of staff, students, visitors or members of the public. The postholder should also counteract such practice or behaviour by challenging or reporting it. • Take reasonable care of health and safety of self, other people and resources whilst at work to comply with the University’s Health and Safety Policy, Codes of Practice and local rules. • Co-operate with the line manager or any other person with specific responsibility for health and safety, to enable the University’s responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act to be performed. • May involve visiting plant rooms and restricted access areas at height or requiring safe working practices, such as working at height to access roof areas.
• Promote sustainable best practice, supporting and advising Estates managers on sustainability and its integration into projects, services and operations. • Project manage ongoing projects and initiatives including e.g. the Green Impact scheme and Fairtrade University scheme. • Participate in the post-occupancy evaluation of new build and refurbishment projects and for amending and adding to LMU requirements for future projects to ensure continuous learning and improvement. • Prepare and present reports and business cases to various committees, sub-committees and groups, including to external stakeholders. • Manage the provision (internal and/or external) for the monitoring, analysis and payment of utility invoices. Collate and present reports on consumption and provide cost forecasts. • Attend project groups, providing advice to project managers on sustainability opportunities and best practice for inclusion in project plans including e.g sustainable construction, and Site Waste Management Plans. • Drive the sustainability agenda through integration of best practices into University activities. • Monitor compliance and performance against external standards and benchmarks. • Organise, plan and deliver events for attendance by internal and external parties, including e.g. an annual Green Week and Fairtrade Fortnight; • Work closely with the Operations team to monitor and regulate building temperatures through the Building Management System; Liaise with timetabling, schools and departments to optimise energy consumption. • Research and keep up to date with new developments; maintain a network of internal and external contacts and groups to share information; actively work with internal and external stakeholders, attending relevant meetings and working groups; • Manage sustainability social media platforms and webpages to promote the sustainability agenda; manage the production and distribution of the regular Newsletter.
