Saturday night in Morrisburg was a good time for the Vankleek Hill Cougars as they caged the home team 10-1 in junior hockey action. Samuel Lemay was the scoring champion for Vankleek Hill that night, with five goals in total. The remaining half of the Cougars’s score total resulted from singles by Nicolas Castonguay, Zack Labbé, Jonathan Lacroix, Maxim Rozon, and Stamatis Skotidakis. Goal assists came from Castonguay, Labbé, Lacroix, Allen Shayne, Nikolas Ayotte, Justin Chaumont, Keean McEachern, and Chris- tophe Quann. Kaylan Tavares guarded the Vankleek Hill net. The Lions’ lone goal was scored in the third period by Cal Bilmer, with help from Justice Brownlee and Aiden Daley. Miquel Daoust and Justin Leclair shared goalkee- ping duty. The Cougars host the Bytown Royals for their season home opener, October 5, at the Vankleek Hill Arena. Sunday afternoon, the Cougars are in Clarence Creek.
