Green cloth lettered in gilt. In the original pictorial dustwrapper. Loosely inserted is a postcard from Reginald Know- les, dated 17-vi-49. “Dear Horace, Here it is and I hope it will please you. It contains much of both my art and my heart. The book starts with June so it is published in June (on 23rd).” Illustrated with black and white drawings by Reginald Knowles. A fine book in very good dustwrapper. [32919] In the postcard Reginald comments that he is “troubled that the printers have made such a spoilt smudge” of the dustwrapper sketch and goes on to say that he hopes the book will sell well and give him chance to make some money, “before it is too late.” Reginald would die, a little over a year later, at the age of 71. 289.
