K appa Joe Smith (Epsilon Epsilon Invisible on August 26, 2023. Joe Milton Smith was born on February 2, 1942, in Oakland, TN. Smith left Memphis to play baseball at Stillman College in Tusca- loosa, AL, after graduating from Melrose High School. Stillman College started a new journey for Smith in furthering his education. In 1963, while at Stillman, Smith became a charter ini- tiate of the Epsilon Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Smith loved his fraternity so much that he legally changed his name to “Kappa Joe” in later years. 1963) entered Chapter His involvement with the Fraternity was extensive, covering all levels within the organizational structure. Smith helped charter for the Northport (AL) Alumni in 1981. Brother Smith demonstrated his continu- ing faith in the future of the Fraternity by his unwaver- ing commitment. During Epsilon Epsilon’s 60th year of Achievement Celebration in 2023 during the Stillman College Homecoming,

initiated into Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. via the Alpha Phi Chapter. In 1982, Strong was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant into the United States Army and the Quartermaster Corps. After receiving his bach- elor’s degree in business administration, he was assigned to Arlington Hall, Fort Myer, VA. While serving overseas in 1985, Strong joined the Korean Alumni Chapter, and in 1987, he was promoted to Captain. Brother Strong served in several positions in the Washington D.C. area, including command- ing the Baltimore Station, Defense Courier Service, where his command pro- vided top secret courier service for the National Security Council, Defense Intelligence Agency, and the Department of Defense, which supported

Smith was honored. Smith also the weekend cele- bration underwrote four scholarships for $ 2,500.00 each to deserving youth who desired to attend a Historically Black College or University. In 2023, the Southern Province awarded the Small Chapter of the Year Award to the Northport (AL) Alumni Chapter. The chapter accepted the honor of Smith for his unwavering commitment to Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. The chapter also dedicated its Achievement book to Smith. Brother Kappa Joe Smith was a family man who loved his wife and children dearly; he also loved his country, joined the mili- tary during Vietnam, and remained dedicated to his fraternity until he took his last breath. ♦

N oah Strong was born in Martinsville, VA - the sixth of 10 children to Noah and Gracie Stultz Strong; they named him Noah Kenneth and affectionately called him “Ken.” After graduating from Martinsville High School in 1978, Strong followed two of his older siblings to Virginia State University (VSU) to pursue an under- graduate business degree while simultaneously participating in the univer- sity’s Senior Army ROTC program (the “Trojan Warrior Battalion”). While at VSU, Strong was
