POSITIVE BEHAVIORAL SUPPORTS Positive Behavioral Supports (PBS) is a framework used to increase individuals’ quality of life and decrease problem behaviors by teaching them new skills and making changes in their environment. The goal is to support individuals in growing to their maximum potential. Our PBS motto is: Be safe. Be respectful. Be responsible. Be the best you can be!
In FY22, the agency saw a return to in-person services, and it was a challenge for many of our participants to adjust to their new routines and expectations. As a result, we saw a small increase in reported behaviors in some programs. Overall, we have seen an enormous downward trend in negative behaviors. We had a reported 603 behaviors in FY16 compared to 129 in FY22 and 356 dangerous behaviors in FY16 compared to 68 in FY22. This year we also hired a full-time board-certified behavior analyst to support our adult day programs as well as added a family member of one of our individuals to the PBS Leadership Team.
